Grace Budd

"He looked like a meek and innocuous little old man, gentle and
benevolent, friendly and polite. If you wanted someone to entrust your children
to, he would be the one you would choose."
- Grace Budd's Mother

The Story

June 3, 1928 Albert Fish created a name for himself. The name Fish would come up with was "Frank Howard". Edward Budd had an advertisemnt in the newspaper saying that he was looking for a job. Fish would go on to show up at the Budd house the very next day the advertisemnt was ran saying that he needed help at his "farm". After a few days Fish showed back up at the Budd apartment but this time he met Grace, Edward's 11 year old little sister. When Fish was at the apartment Grace was sitting on his lap and playing with him. The mother said that Fish looked like a meek and innocent old man. Fish siad that his sister was having a birthday party for  her kids and he said it would be nice if Grace could accompany him. The parents refused at first but eventually let her go. The decision they made would haunt them for the rest of their lives because they were to never see their daughter again. After many years there was a break in the case when a letter showed up at the Budd's.
